Apollo 15 Command Module Pilot Colonel Al Worden, a global advocate for science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) education, inspired the Endeavour Scholarship program which launched in 2019.

Managed by the nonprofit Kallman Foundation, a 501(c)(3), the program awards scholarships that bring teams of carefully selected secondary school-age students, and their teacher chaperones, to participate in the world-renowned Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama, USA.

Carrying out Worden’s legacy through advocacy, Apollo 16 Lunar Module Pilot, Brigadier General Charlie Duke, USAF (Ret) has been a Mission Ambassador for the program for the past two years, meeting scholarship winners at select awards ceremonies and inspiring hundreds at Space Camp each year.

Working in close cooperation with Kallman Worldwide, Inc., the organizer of official USA national participation in leading international air shows, the Endeavour Scholarship award and recognition ceremonies are paired with selected air shows over a two-year cycle. The entire roster of ‘Endeavour Scholars’ includes students and teachers from the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Chile, France, Singapore, Australia, Bahrain, Poland, Indonesia, and the United States.

The program is funded through the generosity of private-sector corporations and individuals who share Al Worden’s passion for inspiring future generations to work across national boundaries and keep reaching for new horizons.

🚀 Mission patches in the making!

Each year, our mission teams kick off their journey with a creative challenge — designing their own unique mission patch. These patches are then brought to life and proudly added to their @endeavourscholarship jackets.

Every design must include the team's name, the USA flag, their country’s flag, their family names, an iconic symbol from their country, and a tribute to Al Worden. While the requirements are the same, each team brings their own creativity, culture, and teamwork to the table — making every patch one of a kind!

Here’s a look at the patches from our first four mission teams. More are on the way, so stay tuned!

We’re proud to share a special message from Emily Calandrelli @thespacegal — MIT aerospace engineer, acclaimed science communicator, and the 100th woman in space — as she celebrates the @endeavourscholarship and its mission to inspire the next generation of explorers!

In support of this message, a donation was made to @wckitchen, an organization providing essential meals to communities in crisis around the world. We're thrilled to amplify the impact of this incredible cause, which Emily helped raise $5,000 for in just 24 hours.

Her passion for using science and space to make a real-world difference deeply resonates with our own mission. Let's keep shaping a future driven by knowledge, compassion, and opportunity together!

Ad Astra!
